Bear Lake Marina Expansion Update – June 26, 2025 4th of July Weekend Construction will pause from Thursday, July 3, through Monday, July 7, for the July 4 holiday. Construction equipment and barriers will remain in place to protect the work area. Please stay clear of the marked construction zones and follow posted signage.   Construction Update Crews continue to place fill material in the marina expansion area. As this activity continues, we are monitoring conditions and will continue implementing safety and environmental safeguards as needed to maintain a safe work zone and protect the lake and surrounding areas.     Source Materials to Build the Marina Expansion Project   We will be utilizing blasting operations at a rock material source site located west of Garden City, adjacent to U.S. Highway 89. These materials will be used for shoreline protection and other critical infrastructure for the marina. We will be extracting rock riprap—large, angular stones that play a vital role in: Preventing erosion Stabilizing shorelines and slopes Enhancing long-term environmental resilience What to Expect As early as July 11, these operations may begin and will follow strict safety regulations and industry best practices. Garden City residents and recreationists may experience noise and vibration from these activities. The project team will be working directly with properties near the site. Looking Ahead Beginning in August, we will also begin transporting materials from a source located south of Garden City to the marina expansion site. Once this activity begins, there will be increased truck traffic in both directions through Garden City.  Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to build the Bear Lake Marina Expansion.
