Bear Lake Marina Expansion Update

 

Construction Update Crews are continuing to bring in and place material sourced from a material pit located north of the marina in Idaho. They are also continuing to mine and sort larger rock materials for the project from a pit located west of Garden City adjacent to US-89.  Looking ahead, teams will continue moving materials to the construction site and building a foundation for the future parking lot area. As the site is built up, crews are preparing the begin work installing the storm drain system.

Source Materials to Build the Marina Expansion Project

The team will be conducting additional blasting operations at a rock material source site located west of Garden City, adjacent to U.S. Highway 89 on Tuesday, August 26, between 2 and 4 p.m. These materials will be used for shoreline protection and other critical infrastructure for the marina. We will be extracting rock riprap, or large, angular stones that play a vital role in: Preventing erosion Stabilizing shorelines and slopes Enhancing long-term environmental resilience
