Rich County Local Emergency Planning

Rich County Local Emergency Planning Chair-Bryce Nielson convened the meeting on July 10th.

Joey Stocking reported on the required radio updates. All law enforcement agencies will update their radios by October.

The Utah National Guard representative-Andy Wade shared the help that they can give counties and municipalities.

Travis Hobbs-Rich County Fire Warden discussed the Summer Wildfire predictions for the State of Ut. People need to be prepared to take care of their property by keeping bushes & trees trimmed and away for their homes. Travis is quite concerned about the dry conditions.  He also reported on the Rich County Emergency Response Vehicle which can be taken on the trails to haul people out of difficult situations or quick response to fire incidents.

Mike Wahlberg-Garden City Fire Chief talked about the 4th of July and how well it was handled in spite of the overwhelming attendance at the Park.

Discussion: Rocky Mountain Power will update your phones to let you know when there is an emergency happening if you take the time to call them and make sure your phone is synched with the program.

(Just a note: The LEPC does a lot for our County in keeping us updated and safe. Call Bryce to find out how you can help in emergency situations).
