Rich County 4-H Trailblazer Group

Every Wednesday night a group of 12-18 kids ranging in ages from 8-18 gather and are instructed, by Milie Bradshaw, their 4-H leader; on proper feeding, showing and fitting techniques for their goats.   The Trailblazers have learned how to halter break their goats, how to brace them and how to make them prance while walking in the show ring.

They would like to invite everyone to come to this year's Rich County Fair and watch what they have learned.

They are also looking for sponsorships.  If you are interested in sponsoring them contact the Rich County Extension Office at  (435) 793-2435

Drowning at Bear Lake

 BY KENNEDY CAMARENA

A 13-year-old girl from Pocatello has died after she was reported missing at Bear Lake on Saturday.

The girl was reported missing to the local authorities at 5:56 p.m. on the east shore of the lake, according to the Bear Lake County Sheriff’s Office

“Marine Deputies and boats were in the area within minutes and began searching,” Susan Bingham with the BLCSO said.

The girl was found and brought to medical personnel where her death was announced at 9 p.m.

“The Bear Lake County Sheriff’s Office extends our deepest sympathy to the family. And a heartfelt thanks to all first responders and the public who worked to try and locate the young lady,” Bingham said. “Tragically this incident emphasizes the importance of life jackets while engaging in water activities.”
