Keep McCallister Funds - Write to Your Legislators

Rich County has been the recipient of LeRay McAllister Land Conservation Funds so land that we all enjoy has been purchased to keep open lake views and to keep prime grazing and wildlife areas open we need all to write to our legislators to keep their support for this decades old fund.

In his opening statements of this year’s session, the President of the Utah State Senate, Wayne Niederhauser, remarked that the population of Utah will double within the next 30-40 years. He asked what you, as a legislature, were going to do so that future generations can enjoy the same high quality of life that makes our lives so satisfying and rich today.

With so much development projected in our near future, open space and other critical land will become even more valuable. The LeRay McAllister fund has consistently shown that it leverages far more conservation dollars than its own appropriation. Without the LeRay McAllister fund, many land conservation groups will experience extreme difficulty raising funds to match federal conservation dollars.

Please write to your legislators to do all they can to fund the LeRay McAllister Critical Land Conservation Fund this year and every year. Please heed President Niederhauser’s warning and do not postpone until the moment of crisis. Our children are counting on us to leave them a world with open space, recreation, natural areas, and locally grown food.

Marina Construction Project Underway

Pardon our dust at the Marina!
We are starting a construction project to replace the long-term rental docks on the north side of the marina and the overnight/transient docks on the south side of the marina. We will see some great upgrades with the new docks. Significant completion for the project is planned for May 23rd.
Landmark Construction from Cache Valley is starting to remove the old docks. They will be utilizing a portion of the launch ramp and the north dike, east of the crane platform for their working areas.
When the project is complete, there will be a new gangway to the overnight/transient docks and the concession operations for Bear Lake Fun.
