Garden City Town Council July14, 2022
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Mike Leonhardt.
Flag respect, rollcall, approval of minutes, Bear Lake Trails Foundation report
by Mark Smoot was held.
Then the public comment commenced.
#5. Business licenses discussed and approved for Buttercup
Homes LLC, Short-term rentals by Shawn Cook, Bear Lake Fitness, and Salty Bear.
#6. Request for Final Approval of Conestoga Phase 2 & 3.
After discussion they were denied and will come back next month the
corrections.
#7. a. Subdivision Discussion for Elk’s Ridge Phase 2
approved.
b. Preliminary
approval of Long Ridge, Phase 6 approved.
#8. 16 Short Term Rentals were approved.
#9. Miscellaneous-new deputy has been hired. The companies
who rent electric bikes need to remind the renters on how to stop at each
intersection (and maybe at each driveway). Electric bikes are allowed on the
bike trail at 15 mph. The rental businesses need to check the speedometers.
Street lights at various spots were discussed. Bike trail will be painted.
Several spots need to be repaired. Perhaps the TRT monies could be used for
bike racks.
#10. Council Member Reports:
Jordan Parry reported that the pool activities are going
well.
Glen Gilles reported that the boilers for the pool were
inspected and passed.
Ken Hansen reported on the library.
Martel Menlove wanted to thank the city workers for mowing
most of the side walk lawns. He also reported on the Regional Rural
Transportation meeting.
Pat Argyle has checked off her list for Raspberry Days.
#11 Payment vouchers paid.

Fire Restrictions
Just a heads up, due to existing fuel conditions, Stage 1 Fire Restrictions will go into effect Monday July 18 at 0001 hrs. This pertains to all State and unincorporated lands in Rich, Cache, Box Elder, and Weber Counties.
Stage 1 Restrictions Guidelines
1. No open fires of any kind except within established public facilities in improved campgrounds, picnic areas. -OR- In permanently constructed fire pits at private homes where running water is present.
2. No smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle, trailer or building, a developed recreation site or while stopped in an area that is paved or free from dry vegetation.
3. No fireworks, tracer ammunition or other pyrotechnic devices including exploding targets.
4. No cutting, welding or grinding metal in areas of dry vegetation.
5. No operating a motorcycle, chainsaw, ATV, or other small internal combustion engine without an approved and working spark arrestor.

Obituary-Tanya Dunford Jensen
Tanya Dunford Jensen, 49, of
North Logan, Utah, passed through the veil on July 10, 2022, after a courageous
battle with cancer.
She was born in Logan, Utah, and
graduated from Bear Lake High School. She went on to study at Utah State
University and later at American Military University where she received a
bachelor’s degree in human development and Family Studies. Tanya was married
and sealed to Jeremy Larry Jensen in the Logan, Utah Temple on April 10, 1993.
Tanya’s favorite roles were that
of mother and wife. She also taught at a Child Development Center on JBER, AK,
where she touched so many lives. She was a valiant member of the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held multiple callings throughout her
life. She loved to be with her family members and loved everyone
unconditionally. She enjoyed being outside, exploring nature and just being
around her friends and family.
Tanya is survived by her husband,
Jeremy of 29 years, and 5 Children: Hailee, Derek (Jordan), Christopher,
Thomas, and Sophie. She is also survived by her parents, Heber and Susan
Dunford of Bloomington, Idaho, and her siblings Lisa (Jeff) Sanborn, Diana
(Kolby) Romrell, Brian (Kendra) Dunford, and James (October) Dunford.
Thank you to the friends and
family that have supported Tanya and our family through this journey. We give
our appreciation and love to all the nurses, doctors and other medical staff at
Logan Regional Hospital and Cancer Center, IHC Home Health, and all the others
that worked so valiantly to help take care of Tanya.
A public viewing will be held
Viewing, Sunday, 17 July 2022, at Allen- Hall Mortuary on
34 E Center St, Logan, UT 84321, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.
A short viewing will be held
Monday, 18 July 2022 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Chapel
located at 2540 North 400 East North Logan, Utah 84341, from 11:00-11:40 am.
The funeral will start at 12:00
pm and be televised on www.greencanyonward.org.
