Splashback-John Holman
July 12, 2024 Dog Days of Summer!! It's Hot! |
|
Again I apologize for not getting the Splashback out a bit earlier. Having too much fun enjoying Bear Lake! That said, June was a good month for precipitation though the first couple of weeks of July have been a bit drier. Currently the Upper Bear Basin is at 98% of precipitation YTD and soil moisture is at 84% of normal. So, our excellent snowpack the past couple of years is still paying dividends. |
| Peak water level was June 20th this year. Pumping from the lake into the Outflow Canal began in earnest around June 21-22. Hopefully the summer rains will arrive and help keep the need for lake water down a bit.
However, the National Weather Service is forecasting the rest of the summer to have above average temperatures and below average precipitation.....so we'll wait and see. |

As always I want to thank the folks at NCRS, CBRFC, RMP and all the others who help me compile the Splashback. And double thanks this month to the logo design folks. |
