Academics: Our juniors are busy preparing for their future! Recently, they participated in a two-day ACT test prep program hosted by Brigham Young University here at Rich High School, getting valuable insights and strategies to perform well on the upcoming Spring exam. Other highlights in our academics include our building trades class has been constructing a shed from the ground up. They've honed their skills in carpentry, framing, roofing, and more, gaining practical knowledge that extends far beyond the classroom. In the coming weeks, some students will embark on educational field trips: a fascinating journey to Texas Instruments and a chance to witness democracy in action at the state capitol. With passionate teachers and dedicated students, the future looks bright at Rich High School and we are thankful for our dedicated teachers and students!
Sports: Our basketball squads have been playing well! The boys'
team, currently boasting an impressive 8-4 record and ranked #4 in the RPI,
claimed a thrilling victory over the #2 ranked Wendover Wildcats. The girls,
ranked 3rd in the RPI, are on fire with a 6-game winning streak,
pushing their overall record to 9-4. Both teams gear up for a doubleheader this
weekend, hosting Big Piney on Friday and then traveling to Manila on Saturday.
Our wrestling team
wrapped up their regular season with a competitive tournament in Aberdeen,
Idaho. Now, they set their sights on the Regionals in Altamont on Saturday,
followed by the State Championships in Richfield on February 9th and 10th.
Our Cheerleaders have been doing well and getting better each
week! Having already conquered multiple categories at the regional competition,
they head to the State Championships at UVU on January 25th with high hopes of
bringing home the gold in several divisions. Their energy and athleticism have
been exciting to watch.
Finally, a round of applause for our talented band! Their
dedication and passion create an unforgettable atmosphere at our home games,
adding another layer of excitement to the athletic experience. We're so proud
of their commitment and the joy they bring to the school community.
This is just a glimpse of the incredible things happening at
Rich High. We wish all great luck as we work hard in the classroom and round
out our winter sport’s seasons.
