Garden City Project Updates

Truck Escape Ramp Project

This week, crews completed concrete pouring on the west ramp footing and will begin pouring concrete on the east ramp footing next week. Construction work will continue to take place on the east side of the shoulder and will have minimal traffic impacts.
VMS signs around the project will advertise slowing down through the area due to the lanes being slightly more narrow through the project zone.
This project is anticipated to be completed by the end of the summer.

Traffic Signal Installation

Crews have completed chip sealing the intersection of US-89 and Bear Lake Boulevard and paving the formal entrance into Rasperry Square. The signal has been installed and will be activated next week.
It is anticipated that on Monday, July 13th, crews will be striping the intersection and traffic impacts are anticipated to be minimal. Throughout next week, crews will also be installing pedestrian crosswalks at the intersection and finishing concrete work on the west side of the intersection.
The project is anticipated to be completed by the end of July.

Addition of Center Turn Lane at 300 West

This project will widen US-89 from approximately 300 West to Sunrise Drive on the north end of Garden City. This project will improve the safety of this heavily used area by adding a center lane to the roadway (in front of the KOA). Construction is expected to begin in late summer and be completed by late fall 2020.
