Flags And A Pictorial History

Bobbie Bicknell Coray, Reporter
Rich Civic Times

RANDOLPH, Utah, March 2, 2016. The Sons of the American Legion would like to put a used flag receptacle in the courthouse so that damaged or used flags can be disposed of properly with an American Legion and Boy Scout flag ceremony.  Eventually  there will be boxes  Laketown and Garden City.  They presented framed plaques of their charter and a list of charter members  to the county and the display will be hung in the courthouse.  They are also installing three new flag poles in front of the courthouse with the tallest being 30’ tall flying a 5x8 US Flag with a smaller Utah State Flag and  two smaller ones with a POW/MIA flag and a five service flag. It should all be installed before  Memorial Day.

Anita Weston presented a "Pictorial History of Rich County" she had compiled in response to a request from the County Commission to prepare for a county display in the State Capital.  The History has  photographs of old scenes from Garden City, Laketown and Randolph and captures a moment in time which included local orchestras, bands, dances, stores and ice cream parlors as well as early farm machinery and scenes.  They will copy it and put it into the local library collections.

Hi - Would be greatly much interested to view the Pictorial History that has been compiled. I wasn't able to glean as to when and where the display or copy would be available for viewing. Would it be possible to elaborate upon this detail. Thank you to Mrs. Weston for the labor bestowed upon this. Sincerely, EP
