Garden City Council Reports

GARDEN CITY, Utah.  July 12, 2018.  Councilmember Darrin Pugmire noted that he was pleased with the water solution dealing with bulk meters.  He will be working with those who will be writing that resolution.

Pugmire said that the Legacy Plat should be redrawn.  It is a PUD.  Currently, there is no ordinance saying that a PUD needs to redo a plat.  However, there are at least six different ID’s on every home in that area because of the changes that they have made in their building of homes.  A resolution needs to be written to make changes so that it will be easier for the County and the City to know which buildings are where.  The city requires subdivisions to make the needed changes on their plat when and if actual changes are made.  That is not the case with a PUD.  A resolution to cover this problem needs to be made.

Councilmember Howard Pope noted that the boiler at the pool had to be replaced with a new one.  He reported that he had gone on the mountain trails with a group.  He said there were a lot of problems that need to be investigated on the trails.  They had been traveled while muddy leaving ruts everywhere.  Many vehicles are going everywhere instead of following the trails and so forth.  The City and County need to step in and work on this item.  There are a lot of projects currently in progress, but perhaps when September comes, the trail problem could be addressed.

Councilmember Pat Argyle said that Heritage Park is coming along nicely.  She reported that they have a changing sign like last year for Raspberry Days.  It is for the vendors and businesses to put on advertisements for their booth or business.  It costs $150 for an advertising spot that comes up every few minutes.  She said that all the booth spots have been rented except for two.  She thought they would go soon.  Glen Gillies will oversee the sound system.

Councilmember Ken Hansen noted that it is difficult to travel on the East Side of the Lake.  They are working on Cisco Road.  They have closed the road to everyone except those who have homes there.  He noted that the Library rummage sale was successful.  “They worked hard and did very well,” he said.
