GARDEN
CITY, Utah. December 6, 2017. The following three items were discussed
allowing for input from the public:
Ordinance
#17-17 deals with adding storage sheds as a Conditional Use Permit in the C-3
Zone. The Planning Commission discussed
accepting this ordinance. Allowing a
Conditional Use Permit will not change the need to follow the architectural
standards already a part of the City’s ordinances.
Ordinance
#17-18 has been rewritten to change the words accessory building to accessory
structure in the definitions section of the City’s ordinances. Making this change will not allow storage
pods or storage containers to be placed in yards and next to homes. They are only temporary storage for construction
sites and may even be limited there.
A
discussion ensued concerning the Conditional Use Permit that has been requested
by Rod Stewart. He was at the Commission
meeting last month asking that he be allowed to build some storage sheds just
west of the City Offices. This property
is currently zoned C-3.
