GARDEN
CITY, Utah. December 7, 2017. The Board
discussed the current 2017 Budget. There
were two changes to be made on the current budget. The Fire Department had purchased a motor for
the fire boat. Instead of transferring
funds from the capital projects fund to pay for the boat motor, it was decided
to transfer funds from the general account to cover this expense. The motion was made and passed by the board
to handle the boat motor this way.
The
other change was to take care of the insurance account. It was over by $6,700 because there were two
additional payments that needed to be made.
Again, the Board accepted this change and then made the motion to
approve the 2017 budget as amended.
The
public hearing was opened to discuss the proposed 2018 budget. The
office supplies fund was raised to allow for the purchase of a new
computer/printer if necessary during the coming year. Tiffany Wahlberg’s services costs will be
slightly lower this coming year because some of the activities that she has
handled in the past are no longer needed.
The health insurance for the Fire Chief will remain about the same as
last year. Originally, it was determined
that it would probably be higher. Three
Thousand dollars will be transferred from the health insurance fund to the
training account.
The
public hearing was closed. A motion was
made and approved to pass the amended proposed 2018 budget.
Three
of the current Board Members period of service will be up in January. The three are Bryan House, Howard Pope, and
Randall Knight. These individuals along
with any other individuals in the community who would like to serve on this
board will need to complete and submit an application by January 5, 2018.
A
representative from Sunrise Engineering will be attending the Board Meeting in
January. He has been asked to come and
explain about impact fees and the information and justification for such
actions. The board will also discuss
with him the plans for the expansion to be added the Fire Building.
There
were 4 medical calls and 2 fire alarms during the past month.
