Garden City Fire District January Meeting

The GCFD monthly meeting held on Jan 18th began
at the scheduled time of 7:00 PM. All
board members were present: Randall Knight, Doug Pincock, Barbara Turnbow, Michael
Lasswell and Rich Schaeffer. Fire Chief
Wahlberg and CPA Tiffany Wahlberg were absent.
Nobody from the general public were present.
The agenda and minutes for last month were approved. The board reinstated the existing officers for 2024: Randall Knight - Board Chair, Doug Pincock - Clerk and Barbara Turnbow - Treasurer.
Randall reported that he and Rich attended the County Commissioner’s meeting and updated them about the 2023 accomplishments. Primarily the purchase agreement for a 1 acre lot on Sweetwater Parkway for a future satellite station and the signing of a MOU with Idaho and Utah Parks and Recreation.
Firemen will
support the Winterfest by having two guys in the water and on the ramp to help
the jumpers as necessary. There will
also be an ambulance on site for any medical concerns. The Policy and Procedures Manual and Employee
Handbook documents were updated to reflect the changes agreed to at last
month’s meeting.
