RANDOLPH, Utah. April 1, 2015. Scott Crosby, representing Swan Creek Village,
presented a plan to the county commissioners to move their current garbage
pickup station further up the hill onto property the HOA owns. They are currently leasing property for the
garbage pickup station from someone else at the bottom of their main road, near
its entrance to Highway 89. The current property
owner, however, wants to put the property to another use and is not willing to
renew the lease for the current property past the end of April. Swan Creek Village has tried to purchase
other property, but have been unable to find an owner willing to sell.
After some discussion the
Commissioners ruled that the County wasn’t willing to change its current Policy
of requiring a pickup station near the entrance to any private subdivision and
at a location that doesn’t require the garbage truck to go up a hill. But the Commissioners might be able to allow
the garbage relocation requested by Swan Creek Village to be implemented just
for this summer to give Swan Creek Village and the County a little more time to
work something out that would satisfy both the HOA’s need and the County’s
policy. The temporary allowance for the
relocation would not extend past the first of October of this year, however.

The above statement by Scott Crosby... "The current property owner, however, wants to put the property to another use and is not willing to renew the lease for the current property past the end of April."... is NOT accurate. In fact, the present land owner is wanting to enter into a contract and SCV HOA is requesting a deviation based on inaccurate statements. Shame on the commissioners for granting a deviation to SCV HOA without investigating the statements that were made earlier this week by Scott Crosby. I hope the liability the county has accepted by allowing the county trucks to go up the hill in SCV is worth the risk. Furthermore, it will be expected with other private subdivisions to have the same courtesy extended to them. Congratulations Commissioners... You now have opened PANDORA's BOX!
I would personally like to let everyone know this is false information. There was a fence placed with a wide opening specifically for the dumpsters to help improve the curbside appeal to Swancreek.
What an amazing landowner to let Swan Creek Village use his property for dumpster use. It takes a very generous person to clean it up and make it look nice for Swan Creek using his own money to do so.
