Notice is hereby given that the Laketown Town Council will hold Public Hearings on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, starting at 6:00 PM in the Laketown Office located at 10 North 200 East Laketown, Utah for the following two (2) items.
1. Ordinance 2026-08 Corner Lot Size and setbacks
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the purpose of this public hearing is to receive public comments regarding a proposed Ordinance 2026-08 to increase the size of a corner lot to be a minimum of 0.67 acres and to clarify the setbacks on all street sides to be 30 feet on corner lots within Laketown City Limits.
2. Vacate a Portion of Town Right-of-Way on North Main Street
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the purpose of this public hearing is to receive public comments regarding a proposal that the town vacate a strip of town right-of-way on the west side of North Main Street, beginning at the stop sign at the northwest corner of North Main Street and East Center Street and extending approximately 470 feet north, approximately 22 feet wide. The Council may take action to adopt an ordinance to vacate this portion.
The public is invited to attend and may give written or oral comments during the public hearings. All public hearing items will be discussed and/or approved during the Laketown Town Council meeting following the public hearings.
On Thursday September 24, 2026, at 3:00 PM a copy of the foregoing notice was posted on the Utah Public Notice website at http://pmn.utah.gov and on the Laketown website at www.laketownutah.com. A copy was posted in conspicuous view inside and outside the Laketown Town Office in Laketown, Utah, and inside of the Laketown post office and at Dee's Service Station. Wilkes Weston propelled Rich (5-2) to a decisive 33-12 victory over Bear Lake, Idaho, in a nonregion matchup. Weston threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Bode O'Mealy with 7:24 left in the first quarter, setting the tone for the Rebels. Rich extended its lead in the second quarter with Jasper Johnson's 12-yard touchdown run and Weston's 2-yard scoring run. The Rebels sealed the game late in the fourth quarter, as Weston added an 11-yard run with 5:23 left and fired a 60-yard touchdown pass to Paxton Nicolodemos with 2:05 remaining. Bear Lake failed to score in the final quarter.
