RANDOLPH, Utah, July 3, 2013. Rich County Commission. A short meeting this month involved tax issues, an ambulance for sale and new business license requests.
Ben Barrus, Laketown Lodge
(Old Rock Store), asked the Commissioners to approve a redesignation of his
property as residential for property tax purposes. During the summer months, people rent this
property, but during the winter months Mr. Barrus’ family lives there. Kim Wilson, the Rich County Assessor, will
obtain more information before the County
Commission makes a
decision on the status of the property as some short term rentals are considered private residences and Mr. Barrus may be the only one considered commercial.
The Rich County
ambulance, a 2002 two wheel drive diesel, is for sale. The asking price is $5,000 or best offer. Anyone who is interested should contact Kim Wilson,
Rich County Assessor, at the Rich County Office.
Russell Thomson, Rich County Janitor,
reported that the restrooms were plumbed incorrectly. The plumbing has been corrected so hot water is
now in the restrooms. No mold was
detected in the building, but two coats of paint were required to cover the old
paint. Mr. Thomson was frustrated that
there has been no communication with the Commissioners as to his
assignments. Commissioner Bill Cox asked Mr. Thomson to prepare a list of the daily,
weekly, and monthly projects for which he is responsible as a salaried employee. The Commissioners can then sit down with
Mr. Thomson to draw up a clear job description which will be a topic for the
August Rich County Commission meeting.
Tom Wahlberg, Garden City, asked the County Commissioners
to approve a business license for Tiffany Wahlberg, who is starting a new trucking
business, Republic Transportation, LLC. The
license was approved.
