You know it is always interesting to me how people become
set in their ways. There is no better
example of this than people not coming to Bear Lake In June because the water
is cold and the weather is bad. You will
never see a family reunion scheduled in June.
Most of the people here are staying at WorldMart because it is the only
time they can get reservations. Granted,
sometimes the weather is questionable but many times it is glorious. June is a funny month but it seems that most
visitors remember the "bad times" and not the good times. The Bear Lake Rendezvous Chamber of Commerce
tries to increase visitation during the "shoulder" seasons but June
is the key. Apparently every bike and
running group knows how great it is here.
Unfortunately they show up at 5:00am, clog up the roads and then
leave, That is cool but we need more. The water temperature is now over 60F, the
days are as long as they are going to get all year long, everything is green,
the butterflies are out and there are few people here. Come on folks, visit Bear Lake now, don't
wait for the summer rush.
