Burke's Run 67 at 67

Kathie B. Anderson, Reporter
Rich County Times

Burke Christensen and his wife Louann live in Bear Lake during the summer.  Their home is in Kentucky where Burke is a professor of Business Law, Insurance Law, and Risk Management Law at Eastern University in Richmond, Kentucky.  Both Burke and his wife graduated from Utah State University, after which Burke attended the University of Utah Law School.

Burke is going to run his age, 67 miles, around Bear Lake.  He is soliciting pledges as a fundraiser for the Garden City Library, Kentucky Riverkeeper, an environmental group, and the S.J. Quinney College of Law.   Burke has run in nine marathons, but this is the longest marathon he has ever run!

The run will take place on Friday night, August 2nd and finish at the Garden City Library parking lot on Saturday, August 3rd.  He will start on the southeast side of the lake, be in Garden City the first time at about 10:30 or 11:00 p.m., run north up the west side of the lake and into Idaho at night into the morning.

He should arrive back at the finish line at the Garden City Library parking at approximately 9:30 a.m.

EVERYONE IS ENCOURAGED TO SUPPORT BURKE AT THE FINISH LINE SATURDAY MORNING, AUGUST 3RD!

If you are interested in pledging money towards this run (fundraiser) to the library, there is a sign up sheet in the library.    Burke Christensen said:  “I am grateful for the resources and friendly place at the Garden City Library.”
