Garden City Council Meeting

GARDEN CITY, Utah.  May 14, 2020.  Two new businesses were approved and one showed a change of ownership.  Los Primos Restaurant, which is a casual authentic Mexican restaurant will open in the space next to Summit Pizza on 70 West Logan Road. It is owned by Luis Ramez.  Ramez has also become the new owner of Bear Lake Firehouse which sells pizza and other Italian dishes and is located at 50 S. Bear Lake Blvd.

Nathan Smoot indicated that Epic Recreation will add food and beverage to their current  business license at 2011 N. Bear Lake Blvd.

A Tentative budget for the General fund, Enterprise fund, SID Fund, Capital Project Fund, and Beach Access Fund for fiscal year July 1, 2019 through 30, 2020 was given to council members.  Because of the uncertainty of revenue this year, due to the COVID-19 quarantine the budget contains no increases.  The revenues are predicted to be $1,887,360 for the General Fund and $1,014,000 for the Water Department.  Impact fees $423,000.  Expenditures are at the 2019-20 budget  levels.

 Employee Handbook Update to section 3-08: The new hire introductory period will be after 90 days from the date of hire to receive benefits.  The department head or employee supervisor may terminate an employee  at any time during the new hire period.
