Obituary-Iris Jane Neilson Cook

 


Iris Jane Cook, 69, died Monday, January 8, 2024 in Yuma Arizona. She was born on September 12, 1954, the daughter of C. Verneil Neilson and Zelpha Bennett Neilson. She married Eugene Cook on November 11, 1978 in Logan, Utah. 

Iris was raised and educated in Tremonton, Utah before moving to Logan. She worked as a master barber in Logan, working for several years at the USU Barbershop before moving to Garden City, Utah to set-up and operate Hometown Drive-In with her husband Gene. She was devoted and had unconditional love for her husband, three boys, their families and her pets. 

She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and pets. She was a dare devil and willing to experience life with fast cars, skydiving, scuba diving, and while enjoying life she was quick to make friends wherever she was and would give them the shirt off her back, she loved cooking for family and friends, entertaining her neighbors and spoiling her pets. 

She is survived by her husband, Gene; three sons, Ryan, Justin and Brandon Cook, twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren with two more arriving soon. She was preceded in death by her parents.

There will be a viewing on Wednesday, Jan. 17th from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center, Logan, followed by a viewing on Thursday from 10:30am to 11:30am at the Garden City LDS Church prior to the funeral at 12:00 pm. Internment will take place at Garden City Cemetery with a luncheon provided by the Relief Society . www.allenmortuaries.com
