Fiber Optics in Logan Canyon - work begins Monday, May 5

 

Construction Notice | April 28, 2025 Project Overview The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is undertaking a project to install fiber optics cable in Logan Canyon. This fiber optic cable installation will improve broadband access in Logan Canyon, allowing for easier and more reliable community connection for Logan City, Garden City, and Beaver Mountain Resort. It will also strengthen and enhance communication capabilities, strengthen emergency service support and create opportunities for these communities to expand services and improve connectivity. Work is anticipated to begin Monday, May 5, 2025 and lasts approximately 18 months. Current Work Zones Begins Monday, May 5 Traffic impacts near Logan City and Garden City What to Expect Daytime work Monday - Friday Occasional weekend work Winter shutdown, finish work in spring 2026 Moving operations throughout the canyon One way traffic with temporary signals, at various locations Short-term 20-minute delays are anticipated Noise, dust, and vibration Heavy equipment, support vehicles, and crew members CAUTION: Motorcyclists and cyclists Uneven roadway surface in travel lanes *Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather, utility, and material delays.
