A local boy had an outstanding weekend. Trason Lutz is RMSHA semi-pro racer. This last week-end he raced in Eagle Point Ski Resort in Beaver Utah. Trason received a 5th in Stock, and 1st in improved and a 3rd in Mod. He also had the huge honor of taking semi pro King of the Hill!
His brother Raiden also raced and took a 5th place. He had a great time and got up and over the hill.
They have amazing sponsors Weekender Sports, Klim, Polaris Snow, Lutz Construction, Bear Lake Realty, Bear Lake Gravel, Hallmark Cabinets, Triple D Construction, Bear Bottom Rental, Bear Lake Dental, and UBC Construction. There were several other locals that race. Dolan Phelps had a 1st in Promasters stock, 2nd in 600 improved, 3rd in 700 improved !! Jim & Jaden Marshall from Bloomington also are racers.
The RMSHA (Rocky Mountain Snowmobile Hill Climb Association) circuit goes all over the western states, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho, Montana racing. The season goes from January to April and has probably 500 racers , fans, sponsors and factory support from around. Arcticat Cat, Polaris, Yamaha, and Ski-Doo to name a few. The most popular race is the one in Jackson Hole. It is the world championship and is a 4 day event bringing in people from around the whole world as racers and their support teams and fans.
The Bear Lake area had the opportunity to welcome them to our beautiful area this past week-end. RMSHA Beaver Mountain Hill Cimb is this week-end. The racers come in on Friday. Trucks, trailers, racers, and factory supporters will all pass through. The race wasSaturday and Sunday.
Racing starts at 8 and goes typically until 3 or 4. There will be a locals class for anyone who would like to give it a try. You can register at the hill on Sunday.
