Update on truck safety measures

GARDEN CITY, Utah.  August 29, 2016. Mayor Mike Leonhardt announced that several more signs about brake checks have been installed. Law enforcement has been awesome and will continue. Utah Highway Patrol has stopped at least 14 trucks this week with brake issues and UDOT is working hard on the runaway truck ramp design.

Leonhardt said that, "Our goal is to have it in place by spring.The mandatory brake check is working well and  there is a speed limit change for all trucks over 10,000 GVW."

Leonhardt praised UHP, UDOT, our Legislators and the Governor's office for helping expediting the signage and brake check area.
