Glade Shurtleff Booth  1941 ~ 2022
 Glade Shurtleff Booth, 80, passed away on November 27, 2022, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Glade was born in Logan, Utah, on December 25, 1941, to Bryan Lloyd Booth and Darleen Shurtleff. He was raised with his four sisters on a small farm in Garden City, Rich County, Utah. Glade participated in Boy Scouts, Future Farmers of America, a dance band, football, and wrestling. He graduated from Fielding High School in 1960 and served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Austrian Mission from 1961 to 1963 where he learned German, a language he loved his whole life. After returning home from his mission, he married his high-school sweetheart, Linda Alaire Hart, in the Logan Utah Temple on December 20, 1963. Together they raised six children. During their married life, Glade and Linda lived briefly in Logan; in Bloomington, Idaho; seven years in Phoenix, Arizona; and 16 years in Sandy, Utah. They have lived in Murray, Utah, for the last 25 years.

Before his mission, Glade participated in ROTC and received an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy. He turned down the appointment to serve his mission and afterward studied finance and accounting for a few years at Brigham Young University and Utah State University. He was self-employed as an income tax, real estate, and business consultant. Glade loved reading, hunting, fishing, and watching football and Gunsmoke.

Glade began struggling with depression on his mission, and the frequency and severity of his depressive episodes increased to where they became disabling later in his life. Mental health challenges plagued him his entire adult life. He battled to keep a positive outlook and to find ways to contribute. Despite his own health and financial challenges, Glade often reached out to help and encourage others. He loved his family and the gospel of Jesus Christ.

In 2017, Glade suffered a stroke that left him paralyzed on one side and bound to a wheelchair. He lived the last five years in a care and rehabilitation center where he relished visits from his family members and his dear wife. He always lit up when Linda visited, and greeted her with "Hello, Beautiful" to the very end. His family appreciates the care provided by medical personnel and staff at the Life Care Center of Salt Lake.

Glade was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife and his four sisters and their spouses: Dee Ann Price (Charles); Carmen Madsen (Michael); Denise Haddock (Kent); and Marcene Littledike (Dan). He is also survived by his six children and their spouses: Nancy Bell (Bryan); Tonya Bryner; Bryan Hart Booth (Paula Olschewski); Clinton Robert Booth (Rebecca Lucas); Colin Patrick Booth (Jennette Jay); and Becky Joan Subramanian (Daniel). Glade and Linda have 28 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at 6180 South Glen Oaks Street (850 East) in Murray, Utah. A visitation will be held prior to the funeral from 9:30 -10:45 am.
