Obituary-Judy Rees Weston Archuleta

Judy Rees Weston Archuleta, born on Jan. 24, 1943, died peacefully at home in Magna, Utah, in her sleep in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 7, at the age of 80. She was the first of three daughters of Wayne and June Rees of Woodruff, Utah.

Mom was always the first to greet someone with her beautiful smile and an enthusiastic, “Hi there!” Her beautiful voice and giggle will never be forgotten by those who were blessed to hear it.

Mom loved the outdoors and all the creatures in it. Mom’s love for animals was fierce, and she was always adopting and loving any creature that needed her. Her dogs were her happy place and walking them along the Ogden River path was a favorite pastime for her.

Mom worked as a barber in Moores Barbershop in Ogden, Utah, for many years and turned barbering into an art form and a barbershop into a community.

Mom showed complete love and compassion for those she felt were treated unkindly or unfairly — always encouraging others and trying to see and share positivity.

We, as her children are all SO PROUD that she was our Mom. We love you, Mom!! We sincerely hope your reunion with your beloved Grandma Dot and Grandpa Bud was joyous beyond words.

Mom is survived by her five children: Sandy, of Magna, Utah; Wayne “Doc” (LaRee), of Evanston; Angela (John), of Annabella, Utah; Michelle, of Roy, Utah; and LeAndrea “Liddy” of South Jordan, Utah. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and countless friends.

She is preceded in death by one great-grandchild, her parents, grandparents and both sisters.

We would like to thank Rocky Mountain Hospice, Neptune Society and all who have shown loving kindness to us and Mom during this difficult time.

A memorial in honor of Mom will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to an animal shelter in memory of Mom’s love for animals.
