Garden City Fire Department Monthly Minutes

The meeting started at 6:33 with all board members, Chef Wahlberg and Tiffinay Wahlberg present and no public attendees.

Randall and Chef Wahlberg gave an update on the huge amount of dirt hauled onto the fire district 's lot on Sweetwater Parkway.   The dirt was donated by the Marina Project manager to prevent future flooding from irrigation water coming from lots east of this lot.

The annual Fire District Pioneer Day / July 24 free community picnic will be held at Heritage Park with hamburgers, fire prevention education, and some games. Personal fireworks will be allowed only at Heritage Park, and the firefighters will be on hand with water if needed.

The fire district will not be holding any events during Raspberry Days but will be on hand as needed.  The fire district building will be available for all first responders with refreshments and drinks available.

The Chef reported the following call outs last month:  6 marine calls, 1 vehicle extrication, 5 agency assists, 4 searches, 8 CO calls, 33 medical assists, 13 fire alarms, 1 boat fire, 4 Short-Term-Rental inspections, 3 business inspections, 11 fire pit inspections, 9 illegal fireworks, 13 illegal fires
