This  fire resulted in the total destruction of a new structure on the east side of the lake.  The Laketown department, with 4 firefighters and two vehicles, responded first to the home of Mike Bishop, a new structure.  They were followed shortly by 14 firefighters from Garden City, with at least 4 more engines.  The fire, however, had overcome the structure prior to arrival of fire fighters and most efforts were focused on saving adjacent structures.  With the exception of some siding damage to the house immediately south of the Bishop home, these efforts were successful, but the Bishop home itself was a total loss.  Cause is unknown.
