Garden City Fire District Board Meeting Wednesday, August 3rd, 2022
Leonard O'Reilly, Reporter
Your reporter was absent so Chairman Randall Knight provided the following:
All the board members were present except one. The board discussed the Pioneer Day picnic and the plans for Raspberry Days. There was fewer people at the picnic than planned because the main activities were moved to Ideal Beach.
The fire station will be used for a rest and relaxation place for the first responders during Raspberry Days.
Because of the additional calls, Chief Wahlberg hasn’t been able to keep up with the grounds and general housekeeping. The board voted to hire somebody to do the housekeeping on a weekly or monthly basis and a landscape company to clean up the outside area.
They also voted to purchase a shed in which to store the snowmobiles and the already approved purchase for a future UTV.
The responses for the month were:
3 - fires
3 - propane leak calls
4 - CO alarms
4 - fire alarms
1 - down power line
1 - agency assist
15- short-term rental inspections
3 - business inspections
6 - fire pit inspections
