LOGAN, Utah. October 23, 2017. Bear River Association of Governments (BRAG) will hold its
annual How To Apply workshops for the Utah Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) 2018 Program Year. CDBG is a program of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development designed to invest in community projects that benefit low- and moderate-income households. BRAG administers the Small Cities CDBG program for Box Elder and Rich Counties and Cache County outside of Logan City.
According to Brian Carver, BRAG Community & Economic Development Director and CDBG program manager, BRAG anticipates approximately $450,000 in funds available for this competitive grant program. This program is open to all municipalities, counties, and non-profit service providers in the region, excluding those located in Logan City. Past projects have included housing renovation, senior center improvements, municipal water system repairs, and emergency response vehicle acquisition.
This year’s How To Apply workshop dates and locations are:
Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the BRAG Cache County
Office, 170 North Main Street, Logan, Utah.
Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at the Brigham City
Offices, 2nd Floor Council Chambers, 20 South Main Street, Brigham
City, Utah.
Interested parties from Rich County are encouraged to attend the Cache County workshop.
Jurisdictions and non-profit organizations interested in applying for CDBG funds must send a representative attend one of these scheduled mandatory workshops.
